Tag As FavoriteComment		Had some trouble with this one, specifically the foreshortening of the hind legs...otherwise it's a painting I'm quite pleased with.

Acrylic on matboard, 8 by 10 inches. Completed 10/21/2004, Mod's Choice on 10/30/2004, hooray! Thank you, Mods! :D

this is a very good picture! It looks like an a scene from the book Eragon. You should read it. It's about a dragon rider named Eragon with his shaphire dragon Saphira.

Hello. This is beautiful! I like the soft atmosphere and how the dragon blends right in with it. The dragon looks not like a scaly dragon but a dragon with nice soft velvety fur!

I bet that dragon can swim pretty good, eh?

He’s going to be perfectly camouflaged against the sky. Nobody’ll see ’em coming! xD
Is there, perhaps, a story behind this? ^_^

:-) Sara Melissa Bean replies: "Thanks very much; I’m glad you like this one. There’s no particular story behind it, other than I was admiring Michael Whelan’s art and wishing I could paint half so well! His Pern art definitely influenced this piece, though my dragon anatomy is quite different. "
