My half of an art trade with a friend, who asked for a depiction of a unicorn encountering a mystical object in a forest clearing.  I chose a disembodied hand wielding a sword on a stone pedestal (kind of a combination of the sword in the stone and the lady of the lake's hand holding Excalibur, both themes of Arthurian legend).
Colored Pencil on drab green paper.

That is a cute unicorn! It would be hilarious if the unicorn got into a "sword"-fight with the hand. I’d actually have to bet against the hand...

He looks as though he’s thinking, "Should i fight it....?Or what do I do?"Beautiful colours and I love the coat on the unicorn.
Personally I’d be a little more than surprised if I saw a disembodied hand like that. The unicorn must be used to seeing weird things.
